The Hillsboro School Board, fresh with three new members, will meet Tuesday with a full agenda.
Highlights of the meeting, which begins at 7:30 p.m., include selecting a board chair and vice-chair.
New board members, Wayne Clift, Kim Strelchun and Monte Akers, will vote in their first meeting for the chair and vice chair. Carolyn Ortman has chaired the board for the last three years. Board policy allows for a four-year stay.
In addition, the board will discuss the site of a future student health center based on the Century High School campus and may approve new tuition rates for students transferring in from other districts.
If out-of-district students attend Hillsboro without the approval of their home district, they must pay tuition because state money does not follow them. The board is expected to approve tuition of $8,351 for grades 1-6 and $8,885 for grades 7-12.
The board will also recognize out-going board member Patti McLeod for her years of service on the board. McLeod resigned because of job obligations.
Among the agenda items is a series of donations, totaling $141,000 from individuals and corporations the board will approve:
