Saint Martin of Tours is an elementary school located at 695 East 182nd Street in Bronx, NY. The school teaches K-8 with a deep Catholic learning structure that is integrated into all classes and programs. The mission of the school is to instill positive attitudes towards learning and each other and to help students build their own self esteem in the process. The school tries to help children reach their full potential and expects them to perform to the very best of their ability.

Because we firmly believe that education begins in the home, we support Christian family values by integrating them into all facets of the child’s day. The end result of our labor, hopefully, will be strong leaders and followers who will make this world a just, peaceful and happy one.

Facts on the School

  • Student progress is regularly evaluated by the teachers.
  • Students are regularly tested and quizzed and the results are sent home for parents to review and sign. The parents’ signature lets the school know that the parent has seen the tests and quizzes and is aware of their child’s progress. This way, if the parent receives no quizzes, he or she can contact the school principal with concerns.

Homework is an essential part of the instructional program and reinforces learning. It serves as a means for clarifying and reviewing material learned in class, for providing motivation and opportunity for individual growth, and for creating experiences of in-depth study and supplementary reading.

Just as with quizzes and tests, homework is expected to be completed in a timely manner and brought home for parents to sign.

Admissions

There is a pre-registration fee for each school year. The price is determined in advance for that school year. The school’s expectation at the time of registration is that all tuition and fees will be paid on time. Tuition is paid in 10 monthly installments.
